MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND DUES
SERRS is open for membership to any individual interested in officiating rugby union football. To apply, contact the President of the Society.
Categories for SERRS members
Part–time or Non-active/Injured referees: $50 yearly dues. These members referee at least 3 but not more than 4 matches per year.
Full -time referees: $100 yearly dues. These members referee 5 or more matches per year.
Youth Referees: $50 yearly dues. These members are 18 years of age or under.
Referee Coach/Evaluator: $50 yearly dues. These members are full-time referee coaches or full-time evaluators. They do not ref.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
Benefits of each membership:
Part-time or Inactive/Injured Members:
1. are eligible to receive all emails related to SERRS activities and business;
2. are eligible to have access to the SRRA discussion group, to keep up to date on the happenings related to rugby referees in the South;
3. are eligible to attend the SERRS AGM as a voting member;
4. are eligible to be assigned SRRA and SERRS referee coaches, with the purpose of improving your refereeing skills;
5. are eligible to keep Level 1 & 2 IRB referee certifications up-to-date, by reffing three (3) matches per year. SERRS will also provide opportunities to maintain current status by providing training courses that meet the requirements of USARRA and/or the IRB;
6. are eligible to receive notification all Law changes as they become available; and
7. are eligible to purchase SERRS refereeing kit (shirts, shorts, socks, touch flags, etc.).
Full-time and Youth Members:
1. are eligible to be selected as one of the SERRS referees to be assigned to one of its international exchanges;
2. are eligible to be selected as one of the SERRS referees to be assigned to one of its national exchanges or territorial exchanges;
3. are eligible to be assigned to the St. Patrick’s Day tournament in Savannah where you will have the opportunity to be coached/evaluated by National, SRRA, and LAU evaluators;
4. are eligible to receive all emails related to SERRS activities and business;
5. are eligible to have access to the SRRA discussion group, to keep up to date on the happenings related to rugby referees in the South;
6. are eligible to attend all IRB Level 1 referee certification courses to keep up-to-date on any new issues dealing with refereeing;
7. are eligible to attend the SERRS AGM as a voting member;
8. are eligible to be assigned National, SRRA, and LAU referee evaluators for the purpose of assessing your readiness for promotion in your referee grade;
9. are eligible to be assigned SRRA and SERRS referee coaches, with the purpose of improving your refereeing skills;
10. are eligible to have the opportunity to keep IRB referee certifications current by assigning you at least five (5) matches per year;
11. are eligible to receive notification of all Law changes as they become available;
12. are eligible to be selected to the SRRA developmental panel; and
13. are eligible to purchase SERRS refereeing kit (shirts, shorts, socks, touch flags, etc.).
Referee Coach/Evaluator Members:
1. are eligible to receive all emails related to SERRS activities and business;
2. are eligible to have access to the SRRA discussion group, to keep up to date on the happenings related to rugby referees in the South;
3. are eligible to attend the SERRS AGM as a voting member;
4. are eligible to receive notification of all Law changes as they become available;
5. are eligible to purchase SERRS kit.
